Answers;

1 – Correct Answer is b
a: The idea that transgender behavior is the result of socialization or ‘nurturing’ was once a
popular concept but has been discredited. A controlled experiment, using a set of twins
was conducted by Dr. John Money from 1967 – 1978, attempted to prove this. Its failure
resulted in the suicide death of both test subjects.
c: At present there is no empirical evidence to support this.
d: Hey, ya gotta blame someone.

2 – Correct Answer is c
a & b: Exact figures on the number of transgender are impossible to determine. However,
there is sufficient information available to safely say that transgender behavior is not
gender specific or more likely to be found in one gender than the other.
d: It is generally believed that Herbert Hoover cross dressed as a female from time to
time, conjuring up a mental image that is too terrible to contemplate.

3 – Correct Answer is c
a: Hate crimes against transgender people know no bounds or are not confined to one
element of the transgender community
b: Both cross dressing and transsexualism is found in DSM IV in Section 302.
Homosexuality was completely removed from DSM in 1986
